Project Description;
Classic Builders carried out the refurbishment of the library at Coombe Dean School comprising the demolition of all internal and external walls leaving the steel frame in place with floors and roof intact. The building was then re-built with a timber frame solution, new finishes, M&E as well as IT distribution.
The existing building was located in the middle of the school complex, surrounded by buildings that remained in use for the duration of the project. As a result, the management of the Health and Safety, and deliveries etc. was of great importance.
The ability to make the scheme work came from proposed material savings. With the exception of M&E, we self -delivered the scheme with our own multi skilled labour force, giving us the ability to work on numerous items concurrently.
